What We Collect

Text you analyze: When you use Devil's Advocate to analyze text (via right-click or the popup), that text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. This is necessary to provide the argument analysis service.

Analytics data: We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the extension. This includes:

What We DON'T Collect

We do not permanently store the text you analyze. Your text is sent to Claude for analysis and then discarded. We don't have a database of your arguments, drafts, or the articles you read.

How We Use Your Data

Text analysis: Sent to Anthropic's Claude API solely to generate argument analysis. Not stored by us.

Analytics: Used to improve the product, fix bugs, and understand which features are valuable. We don't sell this data.

Local data: Stored only on your device to improve your experience (like remembering your API key so you don't have to re-enter it).

Third Parties

Data Security

Your Anthropic API key is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage API. It's only sent directly to Anthropic's servers — never to us or any other third party.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top when we make changes.
